Back matter The apparatus
Notes, sources & colophon
This is an independent design concept by Mousa Batarseh, not an official Sapience AI website. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sapience AI. Quotations are attributed to their source: Sapience AI’s own published wording, or the industry publisher named. Scenarios and quoted fragments marked Illustrative are fictional, written for this concept.
Notes
- 1
“Only 43% can easily access and understand the data they need to monitor and improve performance.” From the 2026 Membership Performance Benchmark Report by iMIS (Advanced Solutions International). membershipworld.com.
Sapience AI’s site cites a related figure, “57%”, without a source. This concept sets the publisher’s own wording and keeps the 57% for Sapience AI to confirm.
- 2
“Secure, private, and live in days — not months.” Sapience AI, Platform page, from the No Migration Required pillar. It is shown here as Sapience AI’s own claim, in small print, because no public detail describes the timeline.
- 3
“Every AI recommendation comes with a full audit trail. You set the permissions. … Governance-ready for your board and your regulators.” Sapience AI, Platform page, Governance You Control.
The pillar also says “You own the model.” This concept leaves that sentence out, because Sapience AI’s Data Privacy & Governance Policy says Sapience AI retains ownership of AI models and their parameters. The two statements need to agree before launch.
- 4
“92% of association executives are using AI, but only 6% to 13% have an AI policy.” ASAE, Associations Now, September 2026. asaecenter.org. This is industry context, not a Sapience AI result.
- 5
Officer handovers “often take years of institutional knowledge with them.” ASAE, Associations Now, September 2026. asaecenter.org. This is industry context, not a Sapience AI result.
Sapience AI’s words used in this concept
| Passage | Source |
|---|---|
| “The collective intelligence platform for professional communities” | sapienceai.co (home) |
| “Insights sit scattered across inboxes, drives, and disconnected tools, leaving teams to make decisions without the full picture.” | sapienceai.co/customers |
| “We sit above your existing systems to organize, connect, and activate relevant knowledge that no single tool can access on its own.” | Sapience AI on LinkedIn |
| “…so the right insight reaches the right person at the right moment. When that happens, retention grows, engagement deepens, and the community becomes indispensable.” (the second sentence is adapted in the title page deck) | Sapience AI mission, LinkedIn |
| “We plug into your existing AMS, CRM, LMS, and content systems. No rip and replace.” | sapienceai.co/platform |
| “Purpose-built AI agents for your community”; Sage — AI Assistant: “Your command center. Routes every question to the right agent automatically so your team always gets the right answer without knowing which tool to use.”; the names Affinity — AI Agent and Corporate — AI Agent | sapienceai.co/platform |
| “The organization that never forgets”, the title of Sapience AI’s proposed SXSW 2027 session; “When board members or committee chairs move on, so does the knowledge they carried.” | Sapience AI on LinkedIn |
| “Your data trains your model only. … Your organization builds its own foundational AI — and it gets smarter every year.” (Private Intelligence Core) | sapienceai.co/platform |
| “Enterprise-grade security and controls”, its paragraph, and the eight control labels | sapienceai.co |
| “Safety and privacy are not features. They are how we build.” (Built on Trust) | sapienceai.co/company |
| “A look inside how our team thinks & builds.” and the Labs introduction; the Chrome, NoteBouncer and OpenClaw excerpts | sapienceai.co/labs; GitHub |
| “Not to automate humanity. To elevate it.”; “Let’s achieve more, together.” | Sapience AI on LinkedIn |
| “The most powerful intelligence in a professional community already lives within its people. …” (Humans in Partnership) | sapienceai.co/company |
| “Book a conversation with our team.”; “Let’s explore what your community’s collective intelligence can look like when it’s truly connected.”; “We’ll show you how Sapience AI works with your existing systems and what your community’s data can do.” | sapienceai.co/contact |
All other copy is concept copy written for this proposal. Scenarios marked Illustrative (the committee question, its sources, the filed pages, the routed questions, and the fore-edge diagram) are fictional and exist only to show the mechanism. Turn on Provenance view on the record, from Contents or the colophon, to see every passage labeled in place.
Editor’s notes: what the concept keeps, and what it changes
Keeps
- The category line “the collective intelligence platform for professional communities” and the audience it names.
- The cream, serif and purple identity. It is extended into an editorial, proceedings-style register that no association-technology competitor uses. Purple is treated as ink, never as glow.
- The published security controls, stated exactly as published, with no added certification claims.
- The Humans in Partnership philosophy. The signature sequence ends with a person, not a prompt.
Changes
- It shows how it works. The story runs from scattered knowledge, to a layer above existing systems, to an answer set with its sources, to an audit trail. The current site states the promise but never shows the mechanism.
- Sourced figures only. The current pages give three figures for one claim: $150K–$300K, 250k+ and 150k+ “annual impact per mid-size association”. They also use 20+ and 15+ for weekly hours. This concept uses publisher-attributed industry figures and leaves the reconciliation to Sapience AI.
- Governance on the main path. The audit trail and permissions are a chapter of the story, not a badge grid at the end.
- Honest proof slots. Design-partner reports have finished, reserved pages rather than an anonymous logo wall. Affinity and Corporate appear by name until their descriptions are published. Labs products carry their real status (early access, announced, open source).
- One H1 per page carrying the entity and category. In a text-extraction crawl, the current home hero reads as an H3, and Platform and Developers each show two H1s (to confirm in a browser).
Built for the stack in the brief
- HTML5 on Google infrastructure. A static, multi-page Vite build with no framework lock-in. It is configured for Firebase Hosting with immutable caching for fingerprinted assets and security headers.
- SEO and AI-search foundations.
- Every word is present in the HTML before any script runs (AI crawlers don’t execute JavaScript).
- A semantic outline.
- Organization and WebSite structured data, with
sameAslinks that separate Sapience AI from other companies with “Sapience” in their name. - An
llms.txtfile.
noindexon purpose. - HubSpot seam. The booking form is native, labeled and validated, and it never pretends to send. The hand-off to the HubSpot connection is left to the engineering team that owns it.
- Motion as progressive enhancement.
- It honors
prefers-reduced-motion, and a visible Motion switch applies the same setting to the site. - No animation loops, so nothing needs a pause control.
- Headings are set by line and never split into letters.
- Focusing anything inside the pinned sequence brings it on screen.
- It honors
- Presenter mode for review sessions. Add
?presentto the address. Keys 0–9 jump to chapters, M toggles motion, P toggles Provenance view, C opens Contents, and ink lines get heavier so they survive a projector.
From concept to launch
The posting sets a live date of December 9, 2026. This is how the concept would get there, with every stage reviewed in the weekly Seattle sessions.
| Weeks | Output |
|---|---|
| 1–2 | Audit sign-off, information architecture, content model, and alignment with the icon refresh and brand guidelines |
| 3–4 | Vertical slice (title page, the single take, the answer), tested on real hardware and a projector, plus the first customer sessions |
| 5–7 | Every template (Platform, Security & Governance, Company, Customers, Labs, Developers, Contact, Careers, legal) and the final copy |
| 8 | HubSpot connection with engineering, GA4 events, SEO and AI-search foundations, and an accessibility audit |
| 9 | Live December 9, then monitoring and hardening through December 18 |
Customer testing
Five 30-minute think-aloud sessions with current customers, each on their own device. The tasks:
- After 20 seconds: say what Sapience AI does, and for whom.
- Find how members’ data is protected.
- Explain what Sage does.
- Find where an answer’s information came from.
- Book a conversation.
Measurement
GA4 events: cta_click, chapter_view, motion_toggle / provenance_toggle, and form_start. Also: Search Console’s generative-AI report and, if the HubSpot tier includes it, AEO prompts that watch for mix-ups with other companies named “Sapience”.
Open questions for Sapience AI
- What do the Affinity and Corporate agents do, and will the names survive the naming and taxonomy work?
- How do answers present their sources to the person asking? (The cited answer in Chapter III is an illustration.)
- Which impact figure is canonical, and what are the sources for the 57%, 29% and 84% figures?
- Can any design partners be named, and which AMS, CRM and LMS systems are supported today?
- Model ownership: which is correct, “You own the model” or the policy’s “Sapience AI retains ownership”?
- Is peer-matching (finding the person who knows) part of the platform at launch, or still a Labs early-access feature?
- What is Sapience AI’s policy on AI training crawlers, as distinct from AI search crawlers?
Colophon
Set in Libre Baskerville and Inter (both SIL Open Font License), with Newsreader for annotations and IBM Plex Mono for technical tags, all self-hosted and subset. Switzer is named first in the interface font stack; this build falls back to Inter. Motion by GSAP with ScrollTrigger, SplitText and DrawSVG, with smooth scrolling by Lenis. Figures are drawn in SVG and HTML, and the site uses no images, video or WebGL. Built with Vite as static HTML5, served from a sub-path of mousabatarseh.com.
