Mike's Party Store

Our story

On Telegraph since 1983.

Still family-owned. Still the place people come for a bottle, a lottery ticket and a taste of home.

The short version

A neighborhood store with the world on its shelves.

Mike’s opened on August 6, 1983, and it’s still run by family. The sign out front says Mike’s Market: liquor, lotto, deli. Inside you’ll also find the Eastern European and Balkan groceries we’ve become known for, with imported feta and olives, cured meats, and aisles of jars, coffee and sweets from Serbia to Lebanon.

We’re a Middle Eastern–owned business, and the flags hanging over the aisles say a lot about who shops here. Tell us what you miss from home. There’s a good chance it’s already on a shelf, and if it isn’t, we want to hear about it.

Behind the counter

The people you'll meet.

Some of the faces from our Facebook page, usually holding whatever just came in.

Look up. Then look down.

Flags over the aisles, money under the glass.

Flags from our customers’ home countries hang from the ceiling. At the register, banknotes from all over the world sit under the counter glass, each one labeled by hand.
